The recent news of the Nokia 6 made quite a few "mehs" with most of those directed at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor it uses. Other tech specs like the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage didn't get as much flak so we thought we'd check out the Snapdragon 430 processor using our similarly powered ASUS ZenFone 3 Max 5.5 or ZC553KL. Granted, there are differences between the two phones which you can see with our comparison tool, but the Nokia 6 does have the same display and more memory, so the differences in performance should be negligable if not better.

ASUS Malaysia have just revealed their latest Zenvolution event to be on 6 August 2016. Signaling the Malaysian reveal of their recently announced ASUS ZenFone 3 range, now it is only a question of how many ASUS ZenFone 3 smartphones will be revealed for Malaysia.
While we're quite sure the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Ultra and ZenFone 3 Deluxe will probably arrive, will the recently announced ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Max also make an appearance? How about Zenbo? Since Intel is involved, should we also expect the new ASUS Transformers or ZenBooks?

The newly announced ASUS ZenFone 2 and ZenFone Zoom smartphones are making waves around the world as ASUS have opted to make one really good ZenFone instead of a new version for each of the three previous original ZenFone smartphones. Due to the 5.5-inch display (which hits a very nice sweet spot in our opinion) the closest original ZenFone in terms of size would be the ZenFone 6, so we've used our tech comparison tool to compare all three smartphones. Key features that the new ZenFone 2 and ZenFone Zoom bring to the table are 64-bit Intel Processors, 5MP selfie-ready front cameras, 4G LTE cat 4 connectivity, dual tone LED flash and for the ZenFone 2, rear volume controls. While there are no Malaysia release dates yet, we expect the ZenFone 2 and ZenFone Zoom to reach us in the next few months or so as the original ASUS ZenFone smartphone range was launched regionally in April 2014.
Local Malaysia price details for the ASUS ZenFone 2 or ZenFone Zoom are also unknown still but based on the current US price of $199 (RM707) we expect the 2GB RAM ZenFone 2 to be priced around RM699. This would result in a drop in price for the existing ZenFone 6 and other previous ZenFone smartphones. Rumours indicate that AnTuTu benchmarks for the new ZenFone 2 could be around 39000 to 41000, which is a huge jump over the previous ZenFone 6 which scored 19661 on AnTuTu. Feel free to compare the ASUS ZenFone 2 or ZenFone Zoom with other smartphones using our tech spec comparison tool or check out the links below:

The ASUS Store here in Malaysia is now offering the ASUS ZenFone 6 smartphone with a free bumper case. In addition to protecting your new ZenFone 6 smartphone it also looks to be the original ASUS bumper case, so it should fit well with the smartphone. Unlike some other third-party sellers, the official ASUS Store is selling the ASUS ZenFone 6 at the standard Malaysia pricing of RM699. Notable tech specs and features of the ZenFone 6 A601CG includes a 1.6GHZ Intel Atom 2560 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a 6-inch 1280 x 720 pixel resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and a top-of-the-line 13MP PixelMaster rear camera. The only limition for this offer seems to be that the first 100 online buyers at the ASUS Store will get the free bumper case so if you don't qualify you can always get it the next day.

Wanted to buy an ASUS ZenFone smartphone but got put off by distributors and sellers offering it at non-retail pricing? Well, ASUS Malaysia now have another option with their soft launch of the ASUS Store (http://store.asus.com/my). Designed to serve all the ZenFone smartphone buyers here in Malaysia, the site offers the ASUS ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 at the retail pricing of RM299, RM519 and RM699 respectively. Unlike other online stores, the devices for sale here are not going to be sold in batches. Instead, you can add them to your shopping cart at any time (sort of like a pre-order) and expect to get it within the next 1 ~ 2 working days. For East Malaysians the wait is extended by a day to 1 ~ 3 working days. So far, the number of colours available to choose from are limited but new colours like Yellow and Purple are expected soon. Also, there is no mention of the other ASUS ZenFone range of devices like the ZenFone 5 LTE or ZenFone 4 A450CG but we assume these should be added soon.
